Starting Over Again
Teaching your child to write their name and letters of the alphabet is a challenging task. The training often starts with heavy emotions from you and your child, tears, and wadded-up balls of paper, stemming from the words, "Try again." After multiple attempts, the child's penmanship improves to some degree, and their progress is rewarded with verbal praise or a small treat.
Like children, adults also may find trying again and starting over a daunting task. It can be a burden, a mere inconvenience. And at the time, it seems like the most challenging thing to do, especially when walking away from a job or relationship or hitting a financial low.
However, starting over can be just as rewarding. It offers another chance at building a stronger foundation, a more stoic you, and beginning the next chapter of your life on a clean slate. Take the necessary steps to experiences the luxuries of your next chapter, even if it means taking the path less traveled. There is purpose in your journey. Prepare your heart and mind and leave the remnants of the past behind.
"Prepare your heart, stretch out your hands toward him. Lift your face without blemish; you will be secure and will not fear. You will forget your misery; you will remember it as waters that have passed away. And your life will be brighter than the noonday; its darkness will be like the morning. And you will feel secure because there will be hope” (Job 11: 13,15-18).
Ever had to start over, whether it was personal or professional? What did you learn from the experience? I’d love to hear from you.
