Unfinished Empowerment Organization and Jae Jones Farm Partner to Support Hattiesburg Youth

Unfinished Empowerment Organization recently partnered with Jae Jones Farm, a youth-owned farm in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, to raise funds for the organization's Just In Case Kits, personal hygiene kits designed to support female and male students with essential personal-care items. Each kit includes hygiene wipes, undergarments, and an inspirational card, while kits for female students also include sanitary products. The initiative is grounded in a simple but powerful belief: students should have access to basic necessities that allow them to feel comfortable, confident, and ready to learn. The kits also remind them that their community sees them, values them, and cares about their well-being.

The partnership is especially meaningful because Jae Jones Farm is youth-owned by Jakadan Jones, demonstrating how young entrepreneurs can use their businesses to make a positive difference in their communities. To support the initiative, Jae Jones Farm hosted a raffle featuring a farm-fresh meat package that included lamb chops and racks of lamb, and donated a portion of proceeds from meat sales to Unfinished Empowerment Organization. This collaboration brought together youth entrepreneurship, agriculture, philanthropy, and community service while helping address a practical need among local students. As this partnership demonstrates, meaningful community impact can begin with a young entrepreneur and a willingness to use available resources to help others.

Unfinished Empowerment Organization is grateful to Jae Jones Farm, as well as everyone who purchased meat, participated in the raffle, donated, or helped promote the initiative. Together, we are doing more than providing hygiene supplies—we are planting seeds of dignity, confidence, and empowerment. The “Just In Case Kits” will be delivered to local middle and high schools, and hopefully, they will remind students that they are not alone and that their community is willing to invest in them. Because empowerment begins when we recognize a need, come together to meet it, and remind young people that they matter.

Unfinished Empowerment Organization’s  1st Annual Glow & Grow Experience was an unforgettable celebration of wellness, empowerment, and sisterhood. Held at The Social, a woman-owned venue in the heart of downtown Hattiesburg, Mississippi, this free event brought together young ladies and women from all walks of life for a morning of inspiration, learning, and connection.

The speakers, Waverly McSwain, Ayanna Hawkins-Wells, and Sonia Laster, shared practical wisdom on skincare, physical wellness, and mental well-being, encouraging every attendee to prioritize her health while embracing her unique purpose.

The Glow & Grow Experience was a reminder that true beauty begins with caring for the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. As the day came to a close, participants left not only glowing with confidence but also growing in purpose, equipped with tools to continue investing in themselves and their futures.

Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, partnered with us, and helped make this inaugural event such a meaningful success. This is only the beginning.

Hub Humane Society Project

Unity and empowerment are at the heart of Unfinished Empowerment’s mission. This month, we have joined forces with the Osceola McCarty Youth Center to bring comfort, care, and compassion to our furry friends at the Hub City Humane Society, as well as to low-income families who want a pet but need assistance getting started. We are providing pet clothing, essentials, and other much-needed supplies to make a difference for animals and the families that care for them.

Through this initiative, we’ve also launched a GoFundMe fundraiser to help purchase vital supplies for the shelter, including bleach, wet puppy and kitten food, blankets, puppy pads, treats, paper towels, and toys. Every contribution makes a tangible impact, helping ensure the shelter remains clean, stocked, and ready to care for animals in need.

In addition to supporting the shelter, a portion of the donated supplies will bless low-income families who adopt pets from the Hub City Humane Society. The donations will lessen the burden of pet care costs, which can be overwhelming. When community partners unite for a common purpose, kindness can go further, change can be lasting, and community bonds can be strengthened.

Our Annual Harvest Harmony Festival

Hosted the 1 st Annual Harvest Harmony Festival on November 1 st .

The purpose of our annual Harvest Harmony Festival is to bring together children, families, and the Hattiesburg community in support of a shared vision of hope, empowerment, and opportunity. Through community engagement, local vendors, food offerings, and charitable giving, the festival raises funds to fuels vital community initiatives designed to empower and uplift families and provide resources. We also hope to one day raise enough funds to open a community center building that will serve as a hub for extended after-school programs, youth enrichment, and family support services.
