It’s the Little Things
“Mama, do you remember when…,” is a question that my son asks me quite often. I wait, expecting him to talk about an exciting event or a trip we have taken, but he usually talks about the little things:
Like movies we watch on Friday nights and how much he loves sleeping on the couch.
The time he persuaded me to try the 4 Story Aerial Ropes Course at the zoo, which I would like to add, we were both too afraid to finish. He did not want to seem like a chicken, so after seeing on a sign that the ropes course was not recommended for people with heart problems, he turned to the attendant with a joking face and said, “We had to come down because my mom has heart problems.” I rebuked that diagnosis right there in the name of Jesus.
The Pie Face Challenge with his cousin, Paislei.
His experiences as a virtual learner- Where is the teacher?
Conversations about superpowers, food commercials, his dreams and aspirations, and whatever else comes to his mind. And… Pokemon, how could I forget.
“Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things”.
